The International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), the International MotherBaby Childbirth Organization, along with the International Confederation of Midwives, White Ribbon Alliance, and International Pediatrics Association have come together to create the 12 Steps to contain all the elements for the delivery of safe, respectful, MotherBaby-Family centered care. Fulfilling these steps is the goal of the International Childbirth Initiative.
