This webinar unites partners from the U.S., Europe, Africa, and India to describe the necessary components for doula training. Our ICI partners will share their work to increase families’ access to doula services, and address what providers need to understand to collaborate and create effective partnerships with doulas within health systems. Recording:

This session provides support for Step 9, introducing the postpartum hemorrhage care bundle that was recommended by WHO at the end of 2023. We will also review the tranexamic acid and NASG recommendations, with input from ICI facilities who have integrated the interventions.

May 29, 2024 – Training providers through Storytelling: Skills for clinical empathy and internal bias
with Project ARIISE (Utah Black Birth Workers Collective and the University of Utah School of Medicine)

An interactive panel discussion about the ways bias and lack of training to build empathy contributes to maternal health inequities. Team members from Project ARIISE will discuss their collaboration, screen their film: Storytelling to Address Racial Bias and engage participants in self-reflection, bias recognition and repair, and offer strategies for improved quality of care.  This panel with the Utah Black Birth Workers Collective and University of Utah School of Medicine centers the voices of birthing individuals’ and birthworkers of color highlighting their expertise in the conversation surrounding equitable, respectful and quality care.
